Psychotherapy

Life is about team work and sometimes, we just need professional support to help us experience life the way we would prefer. With her 20 plus years of experience in the field of mental health, Suzie helps children, adolescents and adults address self and life related challenges, distressing events and relationship issues.

Here is a sample of presenting concerns that Suzie has helped many people with:

Anxiety, depression, low self‑esteem, self‑harm, abuse, family violence, trauma, complex trauma/ptsd, grief and loss, anger, attachment, parent-child conflicts, adjustment problems, life transitions and behavioural problems.

In addition to the presenting concerns mentioned above, Suzie has also worked with adopted children and their family, children in foster care and people who were trafficked.

Suzie uses various therapeutic approaches to help clients achieve their counselling goals. A therapeutic approach is selected based on clients’ presenting concern, needs and preferences and based on what would most likely provide the quickest resolution to their presenting concern. This includes talk therapy such as narrative, solution‑focused and cognitive‑behavioural therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Here is a video explaining what EMDR is and how helpful it is.

No matter the therapeutic approach used, Suzie uses a calm, caring, culturally sensitive, strength‑based approach to support her clients and to strengthen their capacity for resilience.

Suzie is a contracted provider for WCB Alberta and Veterans Affairs Canada.

Psychotherapy services are available to residents of Alberta remotely via Zoom in English or en français. Weekday, evening and weekend appointments are available for your convenience.

Before making your decision to connect with Suzie, please note that direct billing to insurance companies is currently not available.

I look forward to meeting with you! There is nothing like the pleasure of life when peace is felt within.
